10. Gossip Girl
A series about the life of privileged teens in Manhattan's Upper East Side. Based on the hit book series of the same name, this TV show is highly addictive giving everything you want in a teen drama: sex, secrets, and scandal(did I mention sex).
In the last season of Gossip Girl we left off with: Dan (Penn Badgley) and Serena (Blake Lively) Breaking up, Chuck (Ed Westwick) screwing things up with Blair (Leighton Meester), and Nate (Chance Crawford) starting an affair with a married woman, Catherine Mason (Madchen Amick). This season Serena is single and her hard-partying past is making a comeback. Blair tries to make Chuck jealous by flaunting guys on front of him. Chuck is still in love with Blair, but is basically doing the same thing with girls. Nate’s May-December romance is heating up. Dan tries to get a job at the library (hey they can’t all be having fun). The season premiere is promised to be juicier than the last. Gossip Girl’s second premiere is September 1 at 8/7c on the CW.
9. The Shield
A ground breaking drama about cops in a tough, morally ambiguous world that blurs the line of good and bad every day. It focuses on the tension between a group of corrupt but effective cops and a captain torn between bringing them down and his own political ambitions.
It is a high octane thriller that focuses around brothers, Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) and Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell). After Lincoln is falsely imprisoned for killing the Vice President's brother Michael is the only one that believes him and gets himself sent to the same jail so they can plot their escape, but while In the jail Michael discovers how deep the conspiracy is to keep Lincoln in death row.
In the last season the two brothers wound up jailed in Panama and by the end made their escape with the some of the felons in the prison. This season instead of breaking out prison the crew will break in. The brothers team up with an FBI agent(Michael Rapaport) in a scheme to take down the company that framed Lincoln. Also one of the main characters will die and another character who you thought was dead will return. Catch the two-hour season premiere of Prison Break September 1, 8/7c on FOX.
It is a drama about the loving but dysfunctional family of the Walkers and how they stay united despite the conflicts that threaten to tear them apart.
Brothers and Sisters returns with startling revelations from last season. Starting first with Kitty(Calista Flockhart) being unable to get pregnant with Robert(Rob Lowe),Tommy(Balthazar Getty) taking over Ojai with Holly(Patricia Wettig), Rebecca(Emily Vancamp) finding out she is not a Walker and later shares a kiss with Justin (oh yeah Kevin got married to Scotty too). But perhaps the biggest revelation is the potential new addition (and illegitimate love child) Ryan. (spoiler alert) This season the Walker family(mainly Kevin) continues the search for Ryan. Things also get more interesting for Kevin (Matthew Rhys)when he's offered a new job from Robert. Tensions are also high Between Holly,Saul(Ron Rifkin) and Sarah(Rachel Griffiths) and one of them leaves Ojai. The third season of Brothers and Sisters airs September 28 at 10/9c on ABC.
6.Terminator:The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles(T:SCC) is a serial drama set a year after T2 Judgement Day. It focuses on lives of John and Sarah Conner (Thomas Dekker And Linda Headey) as they try to stop skynet form being built. With the help of a new Terminator Cameron(Summer Glau) they try to stop judgement day from happening.
The main theme for this season is evolution. Some of the main characters will go through changes starting with Cameron. She will come out a different ‘person’ after the explosion. John goes through some changes in his personal life when he gets a love interest played by Leven Rambin. We can also expected to see more of Derek Reese's past (or future) played by Brian Austin Green. Finally Sarah will realize that she is not prepared for this war. The second season of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles starts September 8, at 8/7c on FOX.( DVD of season 1 comes out Aug 19)After the death of his dog a young boy named Ned (Lee Pace) realizes that he has the power to bring dead things to life by touch, but only for a minute or someone else dies. Also if he touches the person he revived again they die forever. Now an adult Ned uses his powers to make pies and help Private Investigator, Emerson Cod (Chi McBride) solve murders. Things suddenly change when Ned revives his childhood crush, Chuck (Anna Friel) and their feelings for each other are rekindled. Now Ned has to find a way to be with Chuck without any human contact, while solving murders and keeping his secret safe.
This season it's the return of the colorful and lavishly decorated world of Pushing Daisies. There are many things going on especially in the the first episode. The relationship between Ned, Chuck, and Olive(Kristin Chenoweth) get rocky when Olive joins a nunnery and Chuck moves out. Also tensions start to flare when the Chuck's aunts finally leave the house and visit The Pie Hole.The season starts October 1, 8/7c on ABC.
A sci-fi drama that focuses on seemingly ordinary people with extraordinary abilities ( Cellular regeneration, super strength, flying, time travel etc.).It also explores how these people adapt to the changes these abilities bring, and their roles in saving humanity.
In the last two seasons the Heroes witnessed the one known as Sylar(Zachary Quinto), reap seeds of destruction across the nation. This season he is not alone. In season 3 we lean about 'Level 5', a prison that houses the most dangerous, superpowered, criminals on the planet. Also the identity of Nathan's(Adrian Pasdar) shooter is revealed. Private Practice follows Grey’s Anatomy’s Neo-Natal Surgeon, Addison Forbes Montgomery (Kate Walsh) as she moves from Seattle to Santa Monica, California and starts over. After a failed attempt at marriage reconciliation, and a knock back from a promotion in Seattle Grace Hospital, Addison is in search of sunnier weather and happier times in this brand new series. Joining the chic Oceanside Wellness Center, Addison discovers that the entire staff has their own life issues; the sexy alternative medicine doc (Tim Daly) who needs some emotional healing; the Pediatrician (Paul Adelstein) who doesn’t know he's an adult; and the therapist(Amy Brenneman)who doubts she’s doing any good at all. Fortunately, the doctors are dedicated pros; it’s just their private lives that need a little practice. With only nine episodes last season Private Practice has manged to become a show of it's own with compelling patient cases, sexual tension, and social lives in need of intensive care, things can only get better with the episodes to come. This season expect to see a stronger Addison Montgomery with more surgeries to keep her on her toes. Also the practice as a whole will need to make decisions on patients that blur the line of medical ethics and morality. Starts October 1 at 9/8c on ABC.
This show is about Merideth Grey(Ellen Pompeo) and a group of young surgeons as they navigate through the world of surgical medicine at Seattle Grace Hospital. Together these 'doctors' struggle to find people that they can connect to ,but the only people they have time to meet, date, or hang out with are all at the hospital.In season five expect more intense memorable drama coming up. Meredeth and Derek are back together but neither of them know what being 'together' actually means and a whole bunch of problems sprout from it; Seattle Grace falls in the national rankings for the best teaching hospital and Chief Webber(James Pickens Jr)reforms the entire staff: Finally the hard working new residents visit the Dermatology department(dept) and jealousy ensues when the the department looks less like a hospital and more like a spa. Starts September 25, at 9/8c on ABC.
Based on the on the novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter this crime thriller is about the life of Dexter Morgan(Micahel C. Hall). A blood-spatter expert for the Miami police department who has a dark secret, he is a serial killer. Found in a container as a toddler, filled with blood he has had the urge to kill. knowing this growing up his father instilled him a code on how to kill without leaving evidence. Now everyday Dexter uses his obsessive habit to rid Miami of the murderers that escape the law while desperately trying to keep his secret from getting out.
After a finale that kept on the edge of my seat I'm really excited to see what's happening next. This season the student becomes the master. Since the cases of the Ice Truck Killer and the Bay Harbor Butcher, Maimi has now become an epicenter for serial killers ,and the media is covering almost every homicide in Miami. This puts pressure on the Miami police (including Dexter) to find these killers and put them away. But things go wrong when the Dexter kills spontaneously and releases a chain of events that changes his life forever. Now Dexter is forced to master new skills in order to stop the dangers that threaten him.
